DBB Student Heads to the Major Leagues in Technology

It is a pleasure to share news that brings us so much satisfaction and pride.

At DBB, we are thrilled to share that Sofía C., part of the DBB family and a remarkable young university student thanks to her enormous intelligence, extraordinary talent, and the unconditional support of her beautiful family, was among the five finalists in her category in the second edition of the Women in Tech Awards LATAM, to be held in Lima, Peru, on August 29. The Women in Tech Awards were created in 2018 and each year recognize outstanding women who have had a strong impact on sustainable technologies at the regional and global levels, in accordance with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 5b and with the goal of empowering 5 million women and girls by 2030.

Five hundred women were nominated, only 40 of them are finalists (including Sofi), and eventually nine winners from different categories, such as the Aspiring Teen Award, Most Impactful Initiative, and Global Leadership Award, among others, will have the opportunity to participate in the global final to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 16, with the support of the French Presidency headed by Emmanuel Macron and thanks to the audacity of its Founder and CEO Ayumi Moore Aoki, who, thinking outside the box, has gone, as she herself says, “beyond the limits of geography, status, and culture.”

The participants come from all over the world and to reach the final, they must first go through the seven regional awards held in:

Lima, Peru (LATAM Awards) Aug. 2023

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (MENA Awards) Sept. 2023

Tbilisi, Georgia, Middle East (CCA Awards) Sept. 2023

New York, USA (AMERICA Awards) Sept. 2023

Cape Town, South Africa (AFRICA Awards) Oct. 2023

Paris, France (Europe Awards) Oct. 2023

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (APAC Awards) Oct. 2023

Dubai, UAE (GLOBAL Awards) Nov. 2023

Congratulations to Sofi and her entire family. At DBB, we always support you, and both we and our entire community are sending you good vibes so that this continues to be a wonderful experience.

Congratulations!!!
