World-Class Recognition for DBB

Dear DBB Family:

A few days ago, we woke up to a momentous surprise for the growth of DBB, confirming that the mission we have set ourselves as a team—to actively make a difference in our environment through high-quality, ethical, interesting, and experiential education—is being carried by a tailwind that is taking us further than we expected.

On August 30, Delegates Beyond Borders was recognized as a Member School of the Global Schools Program (https://www.globalschoolsprogram.org/) of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (https://www.unsdsn.org/) of the UN High Commissioner, which means that our academic environment meets the goals of Mission 4.7 (https://www.mission4point7.org/), which proposes Transformative Education as the meeting point for the objectives, methodologies, and common types of education focused on sustainable development, global citizenship, climate and the environment, peace, and human rights.

The DBB family has just joined more than 1,560 affiliated schools in over 89 countries, impacting the lives of more than 29,000 teachers and 200,000 students worldwide.

The challenge is still great because there are more than 1 billion students on the planet, and many of them will need to be encouraged and guided to take sustainable actions in their personal lives and communities so that they will eventually do so in their professional careers with the commitment and leadership necessary to continue to be agents of change toward a lifestyle based on ethics and sustainability that aims to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally, and one of the best ways to achieve this goal is through the power of education. Doing so on a global level is essential to incorporate these changes into the daily lives of ordinary global citizens.  

The Global Schools Program provides the necessary support to teachers and students to teach them the SDGs from kindergarten through 12th grade so that they grow up to become the leaders who promote the change that is needed globally: the shift toward a consciousness of collaborative global well-being.

There is much to be done, and we are doing it hand in hand with our large family of schools, students, parents, and collaborators. Together, we are making a difference.
