DBB opens a new location in Monterrey!

Dear all, good morning.

Last Tuesday, February 4, after several months of joint work and amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm, collaboration, and total openness, at DBB™ we had the opportunity to lay the first stone with the launch of our first in-person CLUB MUN workshop at your school, which promises to be a long-term project with a wide reach in the northern city of Monterrey, N.L., in partnership with Skillbridge, English Learning Hub, whose innovative model provides a highly successful educational alternative because it integrates “Homeschool” and “Microshool” and provides students with the opportunity to learn in a framework of freedom and autonomy with a focus on meaningful learning.

Two organizations with the same goal, together with three very talented teachers and 11 enthusiastic students/families, have managed to shape this project, which has a very special meaning for us, not only because of the high local demand for education and the opportunity to implement accessible regional programs with high educational and motivational value for adolescents, but also because of the ideal combination of factors and actions that made it possible, including on the one hand, the enormous commitment and great work of Miss Melissa, who, in a proactive and committed manner, took on the difficult task of locating, inviting, and coordinating a group of students/families with the same level of commitment; and on the other hand, the extensive educational background of Miss Martha B, who, after having climbed and reached all possible rungs in her long career in education, returns to the basics and the classroom with all the enthusiasm, attitude, and effort that this requires and, of course, with the satisfaction of once again sowing seeds in fertile fields and keeping alive that feeling tattooed on good teachers of doing something for the benefit of youth and teaching in the common mission of changing the world.

We are aware of the challenge ahead of us and are working to create a space where the expression of ideas, the discovery of one's voice, teamwork, the intelligent use of technology, negotiated debate, and tolerance for diversity of opinion are the norm. We really enjoy being part of projects that provide quality education with warmth, and we are happy to share spaces that foster independence and self-esteem in a complex regional context derived from high dropout rates in upper secondary education. We firmly believe that spaces like this have the potential to steer young people away from the boredom, anxiety, and demotivation that afflict them so much, and we are excited to share with them a space that begins by identifying, recognizing, and celebrating differences and ends up catapulting talents through a fun, interactive, healthy, and safe program for learning.

Thank you, Miss Melissa, thank you, Miss Martha, thank you, Miss Gina, thank you, Skillbridge, thank you, Monterrey!

Until next time,

Robert
