Sixth-grade students model MUN for their fifth-grade classmates at Alberi Montessori.

The facilities of Alberi Colegio Montessori in the city of Querétaro, Mexico, hosted last June, of the 1st Interschool MUN, in which the delegates, chairs, and organizing committee were conceived and organized by students between the ages of 12 and 15 from the school's Teen Community. In addition to demonstrating what they had learned during the school year in the MUN Workshop taught by DBB, wanted to share it with 25 fifth-grade students whom they invited as observers to practice and model in front of them with the passion and enthusiasm that MUN inspires in them and to give them an idea of what it means to participate in one. They invited them to register for the workshop, which will surely begin again with the 2023-2024 school year. 

Noah, Rodrigo, Jonah, and Aldo, all students at the school, were the creators of the project, and their enthusiasm in presenting it to the directors of ALBERI and DBB led them to gain the immediate support of both institutions. They also managed to get about 20 enthusiastic, talented, and happy delegates to join a committee that held excellent debates in every sense on the topic of “The Inclusion of Women in Education,” which is geared toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) #4 and #5.

Seeing them work with such passion from the beginning to conceive the project, organize and promote it, make flyers, diplomas, schedules, obtain equipment, software, etc., and above all, lead it in the way they did and directed it with the naturalness and confidence that characterizes them, is a clear sign of their growth and maturity, as well as a source of pride and joy for their families, their school community, and of course for us. 

Small changes make a big difference, and these students have made a big change in their environment. At their young age, they are leaving their mark on those who come after them.
