Dear readers and members of the DBB Family.
Today, October 24, 2023, the United Nations (UN) celebrates its 78th anniversary, thanks to the fact that on this day in 1945, it was created as an organization after the agreement between most of its founding members was ratified. A few years later, in 1971, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution to consider this date an OFFICIAL HOLIDAY, and since then, this day has been celebrated around the world with meetings, debates, and exhibitions about its goals and achievements, as well as a traditional celebration concert, which this year will be held in the General Assembly Hall and will feature the Environmental Symphony Orchestra: The Movement and world-renowned cellist Michael Fitzpatrick.
The concert will be broadcast live from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NYC time and can be viewed on UN Web TV at: https://media.un.org/en/asset/k1b/k1bhfce4x0? gl=1*vc09v1*ga*MTg4MzYzNTIzMi4xNjk0NzI5NTYw*_ga_TK9BQL5X7Z*MTY5ODE3MDI2Ni44LjAuMTY5ODE3MDI2Ni4wLjAuMA..
At a time when efforts towards world peace are being disrupted by armed conflicts in Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Palestine, we must pay close attention to the messages from both the Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly, who are working tirelessly and continuously to make the world we all share a more livable, safer, and more sustainable place.
Remember that each of us, in our own lives, our homes, and our sphere of influence, is capable of making small changes that can become big with our enthusiasm and example.
Slowly but surely.
With our usual pleasure.
Miss Gina, Robert, and the entire DBB family.
