Dear all:
Last September, a mixed delegation from DBB, together with high school students from Wexford and Prepa Anáhuac schools in Querétaro and Noordwijk International College in Veracruz, had the opportunity to travel to Lisbon, Portugal, to participate in Happy MUN, a two-way academic experience organized by DBB in collaboration with Dr. Jorge H. Dias, Universidade Atlántica de Lisboa, and Agrupación de Colegios Restelo.
The dual objective allowed, on the one hand, the Mexican delegation to teach the MUN program to a large group of Portuguese high school students in what we consider to be the first step of a long-term project that is ready to continue taking root in the old continent and, on the other hand, allowed us to become certified in UNESCO's Happy Schools program, which is based on the premise of happiness as a driver of educational transformation and establishes a clear methodology concrete, and applicable to any institution to create HAPPY SPACES within school ecosystems by identifying problems, creating dynamics to solve them, and above all, establishing a spirit of collaboration that takes into account students, authorities, teachers, and parents and aligns them to work toward a common goal: Happiness in Education.
I will have the opportunity to share more details about this and other topics, but in the meantime, THANK YOU to everyone who made this incredible educational and personal experience possible, which undoubtedly had its dose of adventure and ended up becoming a wonderful space to meet unforgettable people with a high social commitment to education and positive and real personal transformation.
Those of us who went back happy and transformed in many ways.
In my next article, I will share something about our incredible journey and some of the very fun adventures through neighborhoods, palaces, castles, restaurants, museums, and of course, the very friendly Portuguese hospitality. We were friends, now we are family: the DBB family.
Until next time...
Robert
